Detective Fatally Shot in Somerville Moore Street Case

Somerville Massachusetts private detective George L Frazer was shot and killed while trying to enter Joseph Vans house on Moore street Evans was arrested and charged with the shooting. Frazer and two other detectives, with A J Barber of Woonsocket Rhode Island, went to Evans home to find Barbers wife, said to be Evans house keeper. Evans allegedly drew his revolver and shot Frazer after objecting to the entry.

Dunn bank president arrested on forgery charge

Raleigh North Carolina Special E F Young president of the Merchants and Farmers Bank of Dunn was arrested on a warrant issued by justice B Lee based on the oath of three town commissioners alleging forgery of the town treasury accounts. The case was moved to Justice J R Godwins court with a $1800 bond for his appearance next Monday for the hearing.

The National Ginners Association reports an average condition of 14 and average reduc tion of 17.6 with an estimated 5 percent abandonment.
