Charles Lyon Chandler, South American agent for Southern Railway and partners, will travel to Brazil, Argentina, and Uruguay this July to explore trade opportunities and advise Southern firms on placing cotton goods and other products. He will interview merchants, assist buyers, and promote U S products with no charge for the service.

Jack Ripley Sr. drowned after falling into Turkey Creek during a fishing trip near Edgefield. His body was recovered after a search by Sheriff Swearingen and others. the inquest found death by natural causes due to the fall. He left a wife and six children.

Edgefield two clubs met Saturday to reorganize and elect delegates to the county convention in Edgefield on the first Monday in May. Club No. 1 chose M. P. Wells as president and endorsed Woodrow Wilson for the Democratic nomination. delegates include Wells and Rainsford among others. Club No. 2 elected S. B. Mays as president and named Thurmond as county executive committeeman while endorsing Wilson for president.
