Destructive Cyclone Strikes County Town and Surroundings

Severe storm wrecked dozens of homes along a three mile wide path west and south of town. Saloon Mob Threat Noted in City Streets

Policemen seal entrances along arm ere and rear of the saloon and guard Columbia Street at Forest and Water. Byers Street corner crowds gather in the vicinity hoping for a mob to burn the saloon. About a frozen arm rests have been made for safe keeping as police expect to maintain order at 1 o clock. Reports say two large crowds from West Tani intend to set fire to saloons near the street, but police claim they will keep crowds close to the saloons with police supervision. Norfolk Virginia 22 year old woman from Savannah Ga died suddenly from morphine overdose. She recently received a telegram about her sisters death in Savannah and swallowed morphine while alone in her room. She was found unconscious but revived briefly, then taken to Saint Vincent's Hospital where she worsened. The body is held awaiting instructions from her family in Savannah.
