Dixie Highway Surfacing Plan From Edgefield to Turkey Creek

The State Highway Commission sent plans for surfacing 8.42 miles of the Dixie Highway from Edgefield to Turkey Creek with top soil. The project includes a 50 foot pony truss bridge across Log Creek and aims to improve a key route to Greenwood and Greenville. Approval by the Secretary of Agriculture is anticipated before bidding for surfacing grading and relocation work.

Episcopal churches extend call to Rev Roy al Walke

Edgefield Trenton and Ridge Spring churches extend a call to Rev Roy al Walke of Virginia. Walke, a former Japan missionary and current temporary UVa chaplain, is described as devoted, well educated, industrious, and pleasing, with a cooperative wife likely to aid the community. His teaching is hoped to strengthen the churches under his future administration.

Union Meeting of First Division at Mountain Creek

A large crowd attended the two day Union meeting at Mountain Creek with a strong mission focus. Rev. R G Lee preached the missionary sermon and led a successful, record mission offering of 198 dollars. Attendees enjoyed hospitality, honored soldiers, and heard reports from Edgefield and Mountain Creek participants. The next meeting location was announced as Bethany church for the June fifth Sunday.

Fillion Concert Party to Perform at Edge Field

The Fillion Concert Party will appear in Edge field on April 9, a Wednesday. The manager apologizes for a conflict with a prayer service and explains the group is touring a circuit. April 9 is the last date on this circuit before they move to another association on April 10.
