Umpire Jack Reeves Bleeds Self After Domestic Tragedy
The well known umpire and ball player John Reeves, known as Daddy Reeves, shot himself in Ottumwa Iowa after a domestic quarrel. His wife Mia Ann Reeves, from Eau Claire, received a dispatch after his death stating she would live with their child. Reeves had played for Illinois Iowa league clubs and later with Peoria and Flour Mills teams before retirement.
