Bonds Ordinance Passed by City Council
The council met with fourteen aldermen present as President Frawley presided. The bond issue of fifty thousand dollars was approved for the city with a one thousand dollar denomination and four and a half percent interest, to be voted on the twenty eighth. The paving of Fourth avenue to Lake, Lake to Church, and Church to Bridge was favorably reported but delayed for action. An arc light was authorized for Sixth avenue and Broadway. The city remitted sixty one dollars and ten cents in a Griffin Rifles tax protest. The poor relief reported eight hundred sixty three dollars spent for fifty four adults and eighty five children. A large social calendar followed with notices of anniversaries and local events.
