Woman Burned Serious in Butane Truck Explosion
A Katy Butane Co truck exploded while unloading butane at an oilfield site near Chesterville, injuring a woman severely and her husband less, as first responders and a helicopter crew arrived. City Accepts Final Sewer Infiltration Study Report
Eagle Lake City Council in regular session last Tuesday accepted the final report from Gutierrez Smouse Wilmut and Associates on infiltration and inflow in the sewer system. The council also heard requests for more handicap access funds and a speed zone on Austin Road in front of Eagle Lake Community Hospital. Dr Jose Ugarte, recently with the Thomas Medical Clinic, broke his kneecap after stepping into a yard hole. he will wear a cast but plans to continue patient care at the clinic.
