The Presbyterian Ladies Auxiliary met at Mrs. N Barrow home with seven members and two visitors present. They spent the afternoon drafting a comfort for Mr Barrow and enjoyed refreshments. a business session is planned at the church next Tuesday with all members urged to attend. Mrs P H Cauthon and children left for Trinity after visiting Mrs W E Davis, and Mr A L Baring returned from a business trip to Houston.

Eagle Lake Rector Narrowly Escapes Lightning Strike
Rev Frank Johnson of Eagle Lake survived a lightning strike while driving from Eagle Lake to Weimar in a Ford Coupe last Saturday afternoon. The bolt hit the car top and exited through the right door, leaving two holes in the metal. Johnson, stunned, regained consciousness before continuing toward Columbus for medical care.

Margaret Hebert fell from the porch at her parents home and broke both bones of her right arm above the wrist. Dr. R. TL McLellan reset the injured limb. She had recently returned home from a Houston hospital where she was treated for a knee affliction and had just begun to recover from a long hospital stay.
