Colorado County readers are reminded today is the last day to renew subscriptions at 50 cents per year. Beginning Friday November 1 the annual rate rises to 3.00 for all subscriptions, in and out of the county, with no in-county distinction going forward.

Voters in Eagle Lake will decide four proposed amendments on the official ballot. The poll tax repeal would let the legislature set voter registration rules. Other proposals address residence requirements for eligibility, funding for aid and health programs, and a retirement fund for local officials.
