Ex Pharmacist Runs Eagle Lake Gun Club in Texas
A former pharmacist named Jake established the Eagle Lake Rod and Gun Club near Eagle Lake Texas in 1920 after leasing the lake. He restocked the 1600 acre lake and netted out rough buffalo fish, selling 30,000 pounds last year. The club, famed as a premier sportmen’s resort, attracts well-to-do members and features a noted clubhouse with rice cake desserts. Jake advises on waterfowl and fish conservation, serving on national committees. Joiners include Jim Bak Sam and J S Brosses among Houston locals.
