The Jokessmiths and Farce in a Street Conversation
A garbled dialogue scene features quirky misstatements and interruptions. Characters tease each other about dances, costs, and a rumored love word. The dialogue includes a waiter apologizing for a spill and a driver speeding past.
Fragmented Gallery of Rural Chats and Street Wit
Readable fragments from a bustling rural-urban scene depict conversations on duties of a driver, dancing, courtly queries, horse trades, and a comic mix of daily life. The piece also notes university efforts to preserve Texas historical materials, detailing archives, manuscripts, and collections. The mood is lively, with quick sketches of people and small incidents.
