Creosoted Bridge Timbers Bought By County
Colorado County commissioners court bought about 59 000 feet of creosoted timbers from Koppera Company of Houston for Precincts 1 and 3 in a special session. Precinct 3 received 21 000 feet at 2872 50 dollars with delivery to Rock Island dam. Also 34 568 feet and 64 pilings for 5824 49 dollars were bought for Precinct 14 The court authorized building a two car garage at the county jail by A D Baker with materials supplied by the county.

Halloween Party at Laughlin Home Draws Forty Guests
About forty youths gathered at Dr. and Mrs. J. R. Laughlin's home last Friday for Dick Laughlin's Hallowe'en party. TheReception hall featured orange and black decorations and a horror house spook. Stolen Houston Car Recovered in Columbus
A stolen Houston car was recovered in Columbus on Saturday. Three youths aged 13 to 15 were arrested and turned over to Houston police. The owner, Mrs. Vernon T. Wearneck, had the vehicle returned Sunday morning. Deputy Barry Tanner Jr and Siexiff Warvey Lee led the recovery. Sheriff’s office also reported two wrecks near Glidden involving a trailer and five youths from Texas City.
