Funeral services were held Saturday May 5 for Mrs. R Arnold Sr of La Porte. The service at Mall Papesstone included pallbearers Reed, C. Puppey, Murey, and others. Interment followed at Lakeside Cemetery with relatives from Wisconsin and Iowa in attendance.
Sun Oil Company opened offices this week for a stragraph crew east of Fyle Lake with Oscar M. Albright as chief field worker. About 17 men join the crew as officials seek housing for families after school closure. Guests and visitors from Houston and Asuncion joined locals during the week.
