Unidentified man killed by Southern Pacific Limited train
An unidentified man about 60 was struck and killed by the Eastbound Southern Pacific Limited near the city limits Wednesday around 7 30 am. He was seated on a tie when the locomotive hit him and drag his body to the embankment. The engineer claimed a possible object on the track mistaken for a dog. The man’s shoes were off, one leg and arm broken, and a large brace was knocked to his head. Local reports say a passerby found a body in the city and he had recently arrived from Sigur Land. The mayor and authorities were notified for identification.

The Provident City voting precinct in extreme Colorado county was abolished by the commissioners court. Voters in that precinct will cast ballots in Isighd and Giirwood in future elections.
