Man Walking Highway Struck By Passing Car Near Eagle Lake
John Smurth aged father of Mrs Hugh Birdwell was struck by a car five miles west of Eagle Lake while walking on the highway at 12 30 Wednesday night. The driver Jimmie Surrancy 22 of San Antonio and his wife and their Ute son were in the car. He was treated for a broken right rib and later moved to Hamsey. He is in custody of Judge W M Conner for investigation.
