Seven members and five visitors of the Woman's Home Demonstration Club met at Mrs. J. E. Tate's home on May 30. The meeting opened with prayer and America led by president Mrs. Ada Stuhl. Jerry Bennett spoke on Good Grooming Styling and Care of Hair and nails. Co hostesses demonstrated the fallout shelter. Refreshments were served. The next meeting was set for June 18 at Mrs. Guy Brigts' home.
Miller's Grocery celebrated an eight day anniversary sale with eight prizes awarded. Winners included Ryle Phillips for a barbecue grill, Buddie Ranilow for nylon hose, Ped Sosa for ham, Mrs Nellie Morales for a cigar set, Morris Xanon for bacon and fruit, Mrs Wilbert Kuelerica for pork, Mrs J Bent Johnson for cigarettes, and Mrs Rath Vasur for milk.
Scott Ten Naple visited Eagle Lake with grandparents Mr and Mrs J L Ware while his parents were in Wey Orleans Louisiana. Eldin Keyeton and daughters hosted over the weekend with Mrs Keyeton's mother and sister Mrs John Douglasy and Mrs Burl Lee of Liberty present.
May 30 social scene includes Ann May Cooper imi Dainy Wiese shopping in Sharpstown while Frances Shinlerman and Gail Austin also shop there. Several local residents attend WCC commencement and a family reunion in Talton. June 2 events feature Pal Beseda’s reunion and senior clues of 63 in Lionnred swim party at Dys's hall. Miles of names mark a busy regional social week.
Luncheon honors Miss Loeusin with guests including Miss Vivian Bilor and Miss Stella Parker. Attendees from Houston and Washington share in the event at a private home.
