Citizens of Eagle Lake plan a special event at Buffalo Stadium Houston on August 9 led by Coach W Bylinton. Fenton Spltin will coach Eagle Lake Nisan with Director Martin Hales assisting the Eagle Lake Mish School Band. Admission is free for all children under 155 as the town celebrates participation in a Houston event.
A large crowd watched the opening softball playoff game at jmthlede field. Sun Oil beat Business Men 20 to 11, with Hutch Parma on the mound for Universal and strong defense behind him. Texaco led early but Universal surged, while further games set in Monday’s schedule.

Milton Wilkins, a 31 year old farmer, was killed in a fight early Saturday. Gardner Henson Jr., about 21, was released on $1008 bond after being charged with murder. The incident occurred near the Lake community, and Mrs Wilkins said Henson struck Wilkins with a beer bottle and a swing caused the fatal blow. Henson faces an upcoming hearing before Justice El Blumberg.
