Duck and Goose Seasons Set by Texas Game and Fish
The Texas Game and Fish Commission recommends simultaneous duck and goose seasons this fall with a longer duck season of seventy five days while geese stay at sixty days. They seek identical opening dates and anticipate possible federal cuts to shooting privileges. The commission authorizes antelope harvests in the Panhandle and West of the Pecos and approves usual state area seasons. They also approve purchase of the Longoria tract to aid whitewing dove recovery and note coastal marsh overpopulation affecting seed supplies.
