Lions club members installed new officers at the family gathering with several committee appointments and notes of ongoing service. Officers named included C. Lauedin and Anderson, with others thanked for past service and future duties outlined.
Carol Ann Miculka and David L Stover exchange vows on June 3 at First Baptist Church in Lake Bliss. Rev Ken Temple officiated as families from Texas attended. The bride wore a white silk empire gown with chapel train, veil, and cascading bouquet. groom’s brother Tommy Stover served as best man. reception followed at the church hall. The couple planned a wedding trip to Austin and will reside with jobs at Southwestern Bell Telephone.
Lake Motors Inc and Ubeir Tamuilies organized a Saturday family outing for employees. Attendees enjoyed games, a meal featuring varnecurd York and sausage, with guests Mr and Mrs George Harlan and others joining from Houston and nearby towns. Local visitors included Mr and Mrs Carl Seahalm and grandparents Mr and Mrs Qudley Barcon in San Marcos.
A bridal shower for Miss Sunderman was held June 30 at Ligsia Church in Mesdanes. Relatives and friends gathered as gifts were opened and displayed, followed by refreshments in a festive, courteous atmosphere.
