Commissioners Court Takes Radical Action in County Administration
Colorado county commissioners session on Monday and Tuesday approved shifting to a salary basis for most officials, retaining elected officers on a fee basis. County Judge Henry Buescher presided as reforms tax the sheriff, treasurer, auditor, and clerk with raises and new pay structures while moving offices and adopting a photostat recording system to speed records and reduce staff. The court also awarded bids for dump trucks, bridge timbers, and road gravel, reappointed deputy sheriffs, and planned future courthouse reorganizations as part of ongoing changes.
