Open House Hosted by Mrs Geo Eaton Tr Rock Island
Mrs. George Eaton hosted an open house Tuesday from two to eight oclock at her Bog Island home for 106 guests. Helpers from the Rock Island Home Demonstration Club assisted, and the event showcased new asbestos siding, a five wart house, tiled bath and kitchen, a lace table with white and red arrangements, a refectory table with greenery, and refreshments of cookies punch and coffee.

Commissioners To Invite Bids For Bernard Bridge Materials
Colorado County commissioners met at the courthouse with County Judge John Hanecher and two members present. Commissioners R. R. Hadden and A. J. Aschenbesk authorized advertising for sealed bids for pile driving and materials for a low water bridge over the Bernard River on the Bolvoaltay Cat Spring second class.

One Of Two Men Charged With Lissie Robbery Arrested
John Joseph Abadie of New Orleans was arrested in Columbus while cashing a ticket. He and a companion face thirty counts for stealing a car in Houston and robbing a store and flag station in Lissie. The car wrecked. they fled to Eagle Lake then Weimar and San Antonio before a deputy sheriff detained Abadie. Investigation notes an earlier attempted cashing of an unused ticket.

Busy Scout Circus Prep Near Houston March 6
Scouts Cubs and Explorers rush to prepare for the annual Boy Scout Circus at the Sam Houston Coliseum, with nearly 16 000 youths rehearsing costumes bikes and acts. The event titled Let Freedom Ring showcases patriots scouting themes and two hours of action west of the Mississippi River. Tickets are 50 cents with prize trips to Washington, D C for ticket buyers.
