Funeral Rites Held for J. L. Waddell Saturday
Funeral services were held for John Leonard Waddell at 3 p m Saturday following a several week illness with pneumonia. He died Thursday night at his home. He is survived by his wife four daughters seven grandsons one granddaughter a great granddaughter a brother and a sister. He was born in Columbus Texas December 12 1966 and spent his early years in Texas and Virginia. He married Anna Cornelia Good on October 10 1888. He worked on a Mississippi river boat and later farmed and gardened continually. He enjoyed hunting and growing flowers and shade trees for others.

Boy Scout Troop 127 to Attend Methodist Church Sunday
Members of Boy Scout Troop No 127 voted to attend church in a body on Boy Scout Sunday. The troop will meet at the Coliy Methodist Church Educational Building at 10:30 am and attend the 11:00 am service wearing uniforms. Seven scouts passed fire building and cooling tests, others passed cooking tests with soup and cold drinks. A court of review will be held next Tuesday at 8 pm at the Scout Hall for about 10 scouts expected to be promoted.
