Negro Farmers of America chapter at E H Henry High School invites the public to a pig show on the downtown square from 1:00 to 4:00 PM Tuesday February 15th. Pigs include fifteen Borer Hampshee and Berkshire breeds with members displaying and weighing animals as part of ongoing project work and raising pigs for the winter season.
The March of Dimes collection in Eagle Lake rose past $1000 after a week of events organized by the Toca Lions and other groups. Friday nights event nets $203, with additional donations from motorists and Main Street drive bringing the total near $1200 to $1300. contributions accepted at the local Lions Club for hospital aid and disease research.

Miss Mary Loi Johnston, a Texas State College for Women graduate, began duties Monday as Home Economics teacher at Eagle Lake High School replacing Mrs Edith Smith who resigned to join her husband in Bay City. Johnston earned her degree from TSCW.
