O Henry ties to Cotulla lore recall in health trip
A columnist recalls Cotulla in the early 1920s as a health retreat for O Henry. Stories tell of a hotel lobby bottle hidden by a kindly innkeeper, O Henry’s silver dollar stash, and a deaf and dumb Mexican ally seen during a train stop. The piece links past ranch life with the town’s then-and-now character.
