MERS' ORGANIZATION Aids Farm Board Loans and Coops
Fritz Engelhard of Eagle Lake Texas, a Farm Bureau Federation director and Cotton Association member, visits Hale County to discuss Farm Board loans boosting cotton handling and pricing. He notes loans cover up to ninety percent of cotton value, enable early advances, and allow holding cotton off market. He cites the American Cotton Growers' Exchange and allied coops, with formation of a cotton stabilization body likely. Additional benefits may arise from future Farm Board provisions enabling coops to build plants and gins.
