Doctor Fees in New York Expose High Costs and Dispensary Aid
The piece notes extreme fees in New York for medical care reaching 3000 to 5000 dollars for the wealthy, while free dispensaries serve the poor. It recounts Dr Lorenz of Vienna charging 20000 for an operation on Lolita in Chicago and helping poor children elsewhere, and cites a dentist who charged 3000 dollars to a powerful doctor’s son, sparking debate over value and access. It also mentions a Virginia resident Miss Virginia Guynn visiting and a weekend trip to Longview.
