Fritz Englehard announces candidacy for Representative to the Texas Legislature from Colorado and Austin Counties. The district seat is vacated by Charles S McLellan who runs for State Commissioner of Agriculture. Englehard previously served as Representative from 1931 to 1934, spanning two terms in the 2nd and 3rd sessions.
D. B. Lewis collapsed with a heart attack and died two hours later at a local hospital. The event occurred Monday afternoon as officials reported medical staff worked to revive him. A death notice listed relatives and mentions of associates connected to his past work.

Moore a 39 year old colored woman was struck by lightning and killed instantly about 5 30 pm Sunday during a heavy rainstorm She wed with her husband Oliver Moore on the I Duncan Son place at Calhoun She was in the yard near a chicken coop under a big tree when the bolt struck her It is supposed she was struck in the head as a cap she was reported to have been wearing and most of her dress was burned off
