Central Power and Light announces Eagle Lake public water system received an excellent A rating from the Texas State Board of Health. Improvements by CPL and the City of Eagle Lake included encasing a sewer pipe in concrete to prevent leakage, with cost shared by both parties. The health letter authorizes permanent highway entrance markers and notes CPL’s well equipped plant, automatic purification, and a licensed chief operator. samples are regularly tested by the health department.

J T Wallace aged 63 died at his East Bernard home Tuesday evening. A prominent local landowner he served the East Bernard Post American Legion and Lion's Club and belonged to the Baptist Church. Survived by his mother two brothers Rufus and Julius and sister Mrs John Garrison. Funeral at 3 pm Thursday at the family home with burial in East Bernard cemetery.

Mrs Selma Falen suffered a painful accident on Wednesday when the three middle fingers of her right hand were scalded by steam at her home. The incident has proved very bothersome, and we wish her no ill effects from the injury. Relatives from Cleveland visited the Reuthers and Mrs Taylor Thursday.
