Big Catfish Swallows Small Cat in Odd Catch
Edwin Lux notes a strange fish tale from Patch, Me as Herbert Brune angling for a 4 pounder hooks a small cat that is swallowed by a 34 to 40 pound yellow cat. Brune tows the big fish ashore and imagines fried fish and cornbread. The event inspires disbelief.

Lent observance grows as churches report crowded services
A Chicago report says Lent’s observance is at a fifty year high with bishops priests and pianisters noting large attendances and some worshipers turned away. Denominations nationwide expect next Sunday to draw crowds as pilgrims visit sanctuaries to renew spiritual reserves. The piece compares spiritual life to a fuel tank needing refills and predicts pastor sermons will be unusually inspired by the Holy Week turnout.

Young Peoples Church Forum Meeting at Garwood
The Church Forum met Thursday evening with Miss Helen Martin hosting in Garwood. Nineteen young people attended, five new members, followed by a games hour after the mission study and business meeting. Rudy Balas drove to Austin to escort Ruth Thomas and Jane Reed home for Easter from the University of Texas. The article reflects on maintaining active church membership and personal religious growth above mere observance, urging attendance beyond Easter and suggesting worship should foster a real relationship with a higher power rather than a memorial ceremony.
