Bernardo well shows oil promise amid sulphur water test
A test drill at Bernardo prairie last Sunday yielded limited oil and strong gas but sank in a sulphur water bearing sand at 2400 feet. Despite disappointment, promoters A C McClanahan and partners continue drilling past 200 feet below that depth aiming for 4000 feet seeking an oil pay zone. The strong sulphur water and gas indicate oil may lie nearby and efforts to develop the field persist.
