The Durham area mourns two deaths a 73 year old man and a 55 year old merchant with Bright's disease. Two quiet Sunday marriages take place Daisy Salmon with J Cameron Woods at Rev M Bradshaw's home and Ella Hogan to H M Williams at a Chapel Hill area couple home. Governor Glenn pardons Edward Horton after three and a half years of a nine year sentence in Durham.

Simmons Bound Over In Monday Morning Court
Mayor Graham held a large Monday morning session and sent several defendants to the superior court on bail. Henry Simmons faced charges of raising a disturbance and knife attacks on negro individuals with bonds set at 100 dollars for the knife throw and 50 dollars for chasing a negro with a knife plus a five dollar fine and costs for public curses. Amos Jackson and Alonzo Curtis faced gambling charges with 25 dollar bonds each. John Henry was charged with selling whiskey with a 100 dollar bond. Henry was found with tools used in a blind tiger. Two men were fined five dollars and costs for whipping their wives, Ransom Perry and Bud Cain. Minor cases were heard with fines for fighting, drunkenness and related offenses.
