Woolfolk Hanged at Perry After Notorious Georgia Massacre
Tom Woolfolk was executed by hanging in Perry Georgia for the nine murders in his father's household on August 10 1887. The massacre included his father Richard Woolfolk his mother Susan Pearl and siblings aged 7 and 6 as well as three others. A crowd estimated in the thousands watched as Woolfolk proclaimed innocence in a dying declaration. He had been tried in Bibb County and retried after a prior conviction if the 1880s process.
