Death of J N Loy touches Roxboro in sorrow
News from Person County reports the death of J N Loy after weeks of consumption. A popular Roxboro business man, Loy died last Thursday around 6 pm leaving a wife and two year old son. Funeral services were held at the Methodist church with Rev J A Hornaday officiating and burial in the local cemetery. The community mourns the loss of a trusted citizen and devoted husband. The Roxboro Graded Schools ward Trustees re elected N C Newbold as Superintendent with R Burns principal and several teachers reappointed. Rev C R Ryland, Baptist church leader, will fill the pulpit next Sunday after a recent Epworth appointment.

Mr W C Belvin of East Dur died at home shortly before 11 o clock after weeks of illness. He was 39 years old and leaves a wife, three children, and two brothers. The Itham Methodist church officiated with burial in Maplewoods.

Last night the board of aldermen elected officers for the coming year. Most incumbents were retained except city engineer W. T. Blackwell. A point of interest was the prescription list disclosure, with initial approval to publish and costs to be taxed to requesters. J. S.
