Mrs Annie Suitt Dies After Short Illness at Watts Hospital
Mrs Annie Suitt wife of J B Suitt died Tuesday at Watts hospital after a brief illness and operation. She leaves a husband seven children and many relatives. Funeral held Wednesday at 2 30 p m from her home with Rev C W Triplett officiating and Maplewood burial. Also reports an adjourned city council meeting addressing street work including a new ordinance requiring 80 percent petition support before paving or macadamizing on a street.

Fire Threatens Roxboro Businesses in Weekend Blaze
A Sunday morning fire in Roxboro nearly destroyed the main business district for the third time in two months. It started in James M. Blalock’s Reams avenue bowling alley and lunch room, burned to the ground, with $1 000 loss. The Pioneer Warehouse and other structures were saved with limited damage. Solicitor A L Brooks of Greensboro visited Durham while pursuing Congressional candidacy.
