Cleveland Candidate Nominated by Democratic Convention
At the 1888 Democratic convention in Louisville the session opened with prayer, a temporary organization was formed, and Grover Cleveland of New York was nominated after lengthy speeches. The crowd roared as a portrait of Cleveland was revealed, bands played, and vast enthusiasm swept the hall, with delegates and spectators waving banners and hats.
