Memorial plan urged by Confederate veterans for national memorial
Headquarters East of the Mississippi issues orders urging a National Memorial Association to honor Confederate soldiers. A board of administrators will be formed from surviving high rank officers to raise about 200000 for buildings and maintenance, with $10 stock shares. Meetings planned leading to a reunion in Houston, Texas, next April.
