Durham City Board Hears Street Paving and Gas Light Plans
At the February 7 1888 Durham North Carolina board meeting Mayor Freeland and commissioners discussed approving minutes and reports from street finance market house and police. They considered paving plans along Main and Five Points with Duke Sons & Co contributing funds and authorized a new electric light at Mangum and Broadway and various sidewalk and street improvements.
