Five 100 by 200 foot lots on Thaxton Avenue in West Durham to be sold at 11 o clock on December 10 to the highest bidder. Terms include one third cash, one third in six months, one third in twelve months with interest 8 percent on deferred payments. Title warranted and deed delivered after full payment.
Tappey and Steel announce the addition of Mr. Alex Delaney, formerly of the Tanner and Delaney Engine Company in Richmond, Va, as a partner. Delaney is described as a skilled machinist and mechanical engineer. The firm name becomes Tappey, Steel & Delaney. The announcement seeks continued patronage after over forty years of uninterrupted management.
A Belsmeyer offers high class tailor made suits in Raleigh with monthly new styles and top workmanship. He uses first class trimmings and a wide selection of foreign and domestic fabrics, inviting patrons to choose local quality over northern tailors and support home industry.

The Durham Furniture Manufacturing Company reports it has bought from Hears and rema ined unsold stock and canceled orders. It promises to keep the best materials in stock and to furnish coffins and caskets of any quality or size at reasonable prices, inviting orders to save money.
By authority from a deed of trust dated May 14 1883 Wm Lipscomb and Lizzie C Lipscomb assign sale. On December 29 1887 the land known as The Mill Tract six miles from Durham and a second 300 acre tract on Little River will be sold at public auction for cash at the Durham County courthouse. Tracts include multiple cabins barns granaries and outbuildings with full description in the referenced register of deeds book.
