Trinity College gifts Duke endowment to secure future
An alumnus report thanks Mr. Washington Duke for a $100,000 donation to Trinity College endowment. The letter lauds the gift as a dual immortality for Duke and a boon to North Carolina’s citizens, while noting alumni resolutions and the college’s Christian mission. Durham counts eighty four magistrates as new appointees. A birding party near Danville bagged 142 birds and 11 rabbits in two days. The text closes by noting the gift should stabilize Trinity College’s finances for future success.
