State Superintendent Blair of Illinois discusses the difficulty of hiring and firing teachers amid Arizona’s diverse districts. The upcoming race at Duncan tracks on May 18 features Little Skeeter owned by Dave Williams against Cantering Clyde owned by Mitch Sanders. Mr. Taylor returned from El Paso with a twenty five horsepower Studebaker. He traveled with a familiar companion from El Paso to Duncan aboard the auto. He plans a rest from business and may relocate to Phoenix, possibly starting in Salt River Valley next year.
A marriage occurred in Georgia on April 9 between Mr. I Ellege of Franklin and Mrs Annie Smith. The union surprised friends as Mr Ellege had no plan to return with a wife, and the couple’s match is noted as a graceful addition to Franklin society. Congratulations flow to the groom on his union.
Eyak K Acuff leaves Wednesday for Phoenix to attend the district Methodist conference from April 24 to 27. He plans a two week return trip visiting Tempe Mesa Roosevelt Dam Globe and the Apache reservation with a carriage return. Rev Clay will conduct services at the church during his absence.
The Arizonian notes Rev Dr Watt and Rev Dr Cory attended the Clifton Presbytery, with Dr Cory serving Globe's church and chairing the Home Mission Committee. Clifton citizens traveling through Duncan to Globe for court session highlight local mining town ties.

A pleasant surprise party was held last night at Mrs. Spoon's home to honor Tillie and Ira Spoon who returned from Tempe where they attended school. A large crowd of young people gathered for laughable games.
