Neola Bull Association Elects Officers
The Neola Cooperative Bull Association reorganized at Neola on September 2. Arthur Hutchens was chosen president James Rhodes vice president James Allred secretary and presenter Ira A Pace and Ray Allred complete the board of directors. The group features three young bulls led by Matador born May 18 1928 with notable production and lineage including World’s champion lines. Bulls boast record milk and butter output and high valued daughters. the association claims one of the state’s highest producing bull families and praises Neola residents for support.

PUNCH BOARD AND SLOT MACHINES MUST GO
County commissioners at their regular meeting at Duchesne Pool ordered all slot machines and punch boards out of pool halls and all forms of gambling in violation of state law to cease. Mr and Mrs W A Fitzwater and Mr and Mrs Ditly Moore returned from a month in Charleston West Virginia and Washington. Fitzwater visited the post office department in Washington and was commended for his service. Duchesne notes 21 years of service by Mr Fitzwater.

Resumption of Stream Measurements in Uintah Basin

The Myton rodeo started with heavy rain soaking the grounds and suspending events. A staged airshow ended in tragedy as Pilot Kas crashed at 4000 feet, narrowly missing the crowd, while Pilot Knox lost altitude and a fuel fire followed the winged craft’s wreck. No serious injuries reported to Knox or Foster, but the show was severely disrupted.

Beggs Farm Changes Ownership Near Duchesne

Du chesne endured a violent wind storm described as the worst in history. High winds stripped vegetation, smashed tomatoes, and brought heavy rainfall with a major flood of the Strawberry River near farms west of Duchesne. Bridges and roads washed out, farms including J. G.Ie Wheeler and Meacham facilities were nearly wiped away, and Moon Lake pump projects reported delays.

Supt Paxton explains that school absence accounts for about 30 percent of pupil failures. First Uintah Basin Dairy Show Planned at Roosevelt
