Duchesne Twenty Years Ago Notes and Local Happenings
Twenty years back in Duchesne and nearby, residents shuffle between Hastings Nebraska mining deals and local business ventures. Frank Davis’s father succeeds Chas Clapper as rancher and Dan Powell gears up a four line operation from Colton to Theodore this summer. George Averett and Ernest Schonian plan ventures with a financier on the head of the ditch. Samuel Jepperson visits Provo as Roosevelt schools end and Professor Winslow returns for a Strawberry ranch dinner. Messages on a bridge plan, a fatal telegram, and community thanks close the item with local updates.
