Strong club organization to be worked in Duchesne

Citizens of Duchesne met to form a strong club organization including nearby communities. Geo Bowers was named temporary chairman and William H H. Case secretary. A five member board with Duchesne leaders and five from surrounding towns was proposed. A Feb 13 meeting was set with notice to neighboring families and a dance at the hall as entertainment. Members paying dues admitted free. others 75 cents per couple.

Road Contractors to Start Work Soon in Duchesne

Resident Engineer R A Gillis returned from a southern trip and met A G Young & Company who said they would be in shortly after March to finish the Duchesne Fruitland road and Malin street through Duchesne. Abutments of the second bridge on Strawberry will be finished in a few days. The steel gang will arrive to raise the steel. The first bridge was completed in winter and once approaches are filled and concrete floors poured the two bridges will be ready for use.

Duchesne City to Have a Modern Bakery

The Danner brothers Joe and T. R. B. rented the Murdock building opposite the post office and installed full bakery equipment. H. B. Danner brings years of national-scale bakery experience. Operations began on the 1st as they plan to serve Duchesne and nearby towns with all kinds of bakery goods.

White Rocks Citizen Stanley Van Arsdale Dies Sudden

Stanley Van Arsdale a prominent White Rocks resident died suddenly at home Monday evening from apoplexy. He was a brother of Mrs. Qy'I. Marrimon of White Rocks and had worked in the Marrimon store for some time. The body will be shipped to Harrodrilie for interment. his wife and daughter were away visiting relatives when the death occurred.

At a Duchesne county education board meeting thirty one shares of the Dry Gulch irrigation stock were transferred to Duchesne County High School. Water will irrigate thirty five acres adjoining the school for vocational agriculture projects. The agricultural department plans to cultivate the tract this year with student participation.
