Hillman Calls Attention to Bee Import Rules in Utah
Dan H. Hillman, state syfarist, reports foul brood in several Ash ley valley colonies and at Buckell and Mt Linnus. He met Uintah County commissioners and secured Ellis Merkley as deputy inspector for Winiru county. Hillman urges importers to follow two laws the Golden Rule and one from the state Board of Agriculture. The laws require notifying the board of any imported bees or combs and inspection for diseases with destruction of infected colonies. He cites a moral rule to avoid crowding yards within three miles of established apiaries to protect resident beekeepers and honey crops.
