Basin alfalfa seed crop shows strong year

Farmers in the basin report a prosperous year with an estimated 5.5 million pounds of alfalfa seed harvested, about 1 million pounds more than last year. Of that amount, one third moved through Myton buyers and two thirds through buyers at Roosevelt, Vernal, and Duchesne.

The third annual joint Institute for Uintah and Duchesne teachers will be held at Roosevelt on Friday January 13 with departmental and general programs. Saturday will host local teachers associations guided by state plans. Sessions cover primary music reading, grammar, health, project work, and high school problem solving.
