Sheep Flocks Rise in Utah Boost Profit and Weed Control
Utah farm flocks beyond 100 head rise, with a 25 percent gain over last year. Juab and Uintah counties report nets around 9.18 per head and 1,225 in lambing, while alfalfa seed regions use flocks to weed and maintain seed purity. Cooperative pooling forms aid marketing, and ditch banks cleared by grazing save costs. Extension officials promote farm flocks to curb weed problems and enhance agricultural systems.
