State apiarist H. Hillman urges beekeepers to assess honey reserves this fall and ensure bees have enough stores to survive winter. Advice covers feeding syrup, adding hive bodies, windbreaks, dry well ventilated interiors, and keeping bees through lean periods.
Growers of alfalfa seed sold more freely in the past month but total movement trailed the year-ago pace. Bureau of Agricultural Economics estimates show about 65 percent of the crop had left growers by November 15, vs 75 percent last year and 60-45-60 percent at earlier dates. Western Utah, southern Idaho and western South Dakota saw the briskest activity with prices rising in most districts.
In a letter to Duchesne Courier Utah road engineer S Kerr explains the 1923 1929 plans for the Beclian Heber Fruitland and Vernal routes. The project includes federal aid gravel highways with completion targets and joint work with Forest Service and Uintah county. The Salt Lake Vernal road will be maintained and improved with priority to basin links.
Geo M Bacon state engineer led Sunday inspection of Twin Lakes reservoir of Farnsworth Canal company and said the break was unavoidable and not due to canal company negligence. Damages totaled several thousand dollars to property along Lake Fork River. bridges washed out and homes flooded. A later meeting and dinner at Hotel Dichezne noted town business and planned installation events for December with several visitors present.
Emma Welsh learned her granddaughter died at Og fen last Thursday. J. B. Lennon and Eemund Web returned from Baltimore Lake Monday after a week away. The Ladies of the MS eat held their regular meeting at Mrs. J Relison's home on Wednesday.

A fire destroyed the Duguesne home of St G Porter Trelay as Mrs Porter slept in the evening. Only a small amount of clothing and a few chairs survived while the house was engulfed. Neighbors and the hose cart battled the flames but the structure was left roofless and uninhabitable for the night.
Governor George Dern announces Ray Dillman of the Uinta Basin as a member of the Utah water storage commission created by resignations of Dr. Johnny Whdtsot. Dillman’s appointment takes effect immediately, bringing basin representation to Salt Lake discussions on Moon Lake and other water projects.
Monday night Mr and Mrs Wallace Moffitt entertained Boneta married folks in honor of Ruth Madsen for her service in the post office. A short program followed with jokes songs toasts and talks. Twenty four couples attended and plan monthly gatherings in Boneta.
