The State Central Committee calls a convention in De Motte on Wednesday May 20 to select delegates for Governor Lieutenant Governor and Supreme Court races. The meeting will appoint a delegation for the 100 elected county representatives and set the agenda for party business in the state.
A damaged letter from St Louis notes clashes within the St Louis Chamber of Commerce involving abolitionist influence and a purported plot linked to the federal government. The communication, claimed vouched by Win Mathews, outlines a history of the affair and its alleged consequences.
