A Memphis dispatch to the Cincinnati Gazette describes Vicksburg batteries and a river collision. Seven gunboats and three transports engaged the blockading line. the Forest Queen and Henry Clay suffered damage and possible losses. A pilot used a plank to reach safety at Warrenton as gunboats reportedly fired nearby.
