Yesterday the Lord Mayor elect and senior city officials attended a diving service at Christ Church Collegiate Church. A sermon by Rev. Mr. Rowzxy followed, and magistrates reviewed the city in customary Michaelmas ceremonies. Swearing in of new city magistrates to occur today before a Baron in the Court of Exchequer.
Saturday morning Mr Silvester and the Messengers arrived at Watkin's Hotel Plymouth Dock with orders for Marquis Wellesley at Cadiz and to sail the Pickle brig to convey him that evening. Letters from an English officer in Portugal discuss French hesitance to seize remaining Spanish provinces and the potential for renewed hostilities with Germ. Lord Wellington is cited as Commander in Chief of the British Spanish and Portuguese force. A Court Martial is planned for the expedition to the Scheidt. no General Court Martial will be held. The Chelsea Hospital hall is being fitted.
The brig Thomas under Captain Joseph Camper from Martinique to London arrived at Cove last Saturday after losing fore and mainmasts in a violent gale on August 26. Camper later met Fortunee off 39 38 N 44 9 W. A fast note on a large fleet of West India ships reported off the Cape with several dismasted vessels. A major still was seized at Cloughooly near Kilwallin by Fermoy authorities. 7 men were found at work, four escaped. A mail-letter fraud ring in Waterford led to arrests though the crime did not mature. Michael Dunn, a longtime escapee and criminal, was captured near Kilcock with police aid, ending years of evasions.
A prisoner appeared at Stafford county gaol with his own commitment claiming the constable was busy in harvest. He said the constable would not come until after he gave his word and acknowledged he was the named person in the commitment.
From General St. Ledger's camp at Loodehannah dated the 17th mst we learn that all terms with the Seiks have been amicably settled. Keire and Feride Kriote forts on the Sutledge left bank were surrendered and are held by British troops. The army rests near Loodehannah with 8000 men while operations shift to frontier cantonments.
Reports from Badajoz describe General Sir Arthur Wellesley’s arrival and reception by the Supreme Junta and Archbishop. Additional dispatches note French actions near Junqueira, decrees in Seville reducing noble and clerical privileges, and Allied movements toward Ciudad Rodrigo with Wellesley’s forces preparing co operation.

It mentions cannons firing, Mass in churches, and illuminations as a prince’s anniversary festivities end. French troops occupy cantonments near Placentia Coria. both sides await events in Germany.
